Clothing Bank
About the project
For several years, the Pankracy Foundation has been running the Clothing Bank project in close cooperation with the First Job Support Programme Foundation. Our activities support young people becoming independent after leaving children's homes, foster families and families facing complex difficulties, who for various reasons face a more difficult start to their working lives than their peers. Together, we help them enter the job market.
Our work through the Clothing Bank project
The Clothing Bank project has been running since 2019. As part of it:
we run the “In Good Style for Your First Job” workshops across Poland,
a permanent Clothing Bank operates in Warsaw, where young people can choose outfits for a job interview or their first weeks at work (free of charge, of course),
we organise occasional business-clothing collections.
Our mission
The Clothing Bank is a social initiative supporting young people facing difficult life circumstances.
Thanks to our Partners:
- we provide expert support (workshops, lectures, individual online meetings and styling sessions),
- we source clothing, accessories and cosmetics for young people.
Benefits for participants
All Clothing Bank participants receive free clothing for their first job, while the “In Good Style for Your First Job” workshops help them gain confidence and practical knowledge that makes starting their careers easier.
Free “In Good Style for Your First Job” workshops - what do we offer?
The aim of our workshops is to help young people enter the job market through:
- practical knowledge and guidance
- a makeover
- business clothing
- a professional photo session
Young people from children's homes gain high-quality practical and theoretical knowledge about:
- CVs - how to write one properly, even without work experience
- job interviews - how to present yourself professionally
- themselves - discovering their own potential and building self-confidence
How the Clothing Bank works
- Mobile “In Good Style for Your First Job” workshops organised several times a year for young people across Poland.
- A permanent Clothing Bank available year-round to young people in Warsaw (PUNKTUS - Support Point for Young People Becoming Independent).
