What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files sent by a web server and stored on the user’s device (usually in the storage of a particular browser). Cookies are generally very useful: they allow your individual website settings to be remembered and enable our website to collect visitor statistics.
In general, cookies are most commonly used for counters, surveys, online shops, websites requiring login, advertising and monitoring visitor activity.
Information collected through cookies may also be used to gather information about you for commercial purposes. For example, if you frequently visit automotive websites, you may see more car advertisements.
Information
This website stores so-called cookies on your computer or phone, more precisely in the storage of the browser you use (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome and others), within the user account of the device you use to connect to the Internet.
They allow us to see how many users visit our website, what they read and what they tend to avoid.
If you believe that cookies infringe your privacy, you can disable them at any time, either for a specific website or for all connections made through your browser.
How to disable cookies
In Mozilla Firefox
From the “Tools” menu, select “Options” and then the “Privacy” tab.
The browser allows you to indicate that you do not want to be tracked at all, or to delete individual cookies from specific websites.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer
From the “Tools” menu, select “Internet Options” and then the “Privacy” tab.
You can use the dedicated slider to adjust the overall privacy level, or use the “Sites” button to manage settings for individual websites.
In Google Chrome
From the menu hidden under the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the browser, select “Tools” and then “Clear browsing data…”. In addition to the option to clear cookies, you will find a “More information” link with a detailed description of the browser’s privacy features.
In Opera
Click the “Opera” button in the top-left corner to open the menu, then select “Settings” followed by “Clear browsing history…”.
In addition to deleting cookies that have already been set, you can use the “Manage cookies…” button to access more advanced options for individual websites.
In Apple Safari
From the “Safari” menu, select “Preferences” and then the “Privacy” tab. You will find a range of cookie-related options there.
On mobile phones, tablets and other mobile devices
Each phone model may handle this feature differently. We therefore recommend checking the privacy options in the documentation available on your mobile device manufacturer’s website.
If you would like to learn more about cookies, you can read about them on Wikipedia.
