MOC Project
MOC, short for Młodzież, Opieka, Czas (Youth, Care, Time), is one of the Pankracy Foundation’s most important programmes. Its aim is to support young people leaving Youth Educational Centres as they become independent, build confidence and regain a sense of agency.
Entering adulthood is a challenge for every young person. For those leaving Youth Educational Centres, this moment can be particularly difficult. It often means having to make decisions independently, without stable support, a safe base or someone to turn to for advice.
That is why we created the MOC project. This three-year programme, running from 2025 to 2028, is aimed at young people aged 16–25 who are preparing for independent life after leaving a Youth Educational Centre. Mentoring relationships are at the heart of the programme: regular meetings between young people and adult volunteers who become a source of support, conversation and companionship when important decisions need to be made.
MOC is not one-off assistance. It is time, presence and attentiveness. It is about building trust step by step. Mentors receive training, take part in supervision and are prepared to support young people responsibly. As a result, young people are not left alone with questions about the future, work, education, relationships or everyday life after leaving their centre.
As part of the programme, young people and mentors can also put their own ideas into action through mini-grants. These can fund workshops, courses, social initiatives, meetings and activities that develop interests and passions. In this way, a relationship becomes an experience, and experience becomes real change.
The MOC project is based on cooperation with Youth Educational Centres across Poland. We believe that lasting support for young people requires combining the experience of care staff, the commitment of mentors and trust in the young people themselves.
Because adulthood should not begin with loneliness. It should begin with relationships, safety and the belief that more is possible.
